In December of 2016, Turn 14 Distribution, announced its expansion into an all-new, larger distribution center designed from the ground up to its own specifications. The 234,000 sq-ft facility is located at 3035 Campus Drive, in Hatfield, Pennsylvania.
This purpose-built warehousing operation was engineered with many efficiency improvements, which revolutionized the process of shipping and receiving while taking advantage of the latest technologies to minimize errors.
The technology expansion incorporates small and large five-sided scan tunnels with high-speed scales to capture exact dimensions and weights for all inbound products. With these precise measurements, Turn 14 Distribution can predetermine what will go in each box of a shipment. The company can also quote shipping fees more accurately, generate exact shipping quotes for large shipments and international shipping in seconds, and weigh every shipment as it leaves the building. This outbound shipment data is offered to the company’s customers so they can charge appropriate shipping prices.
